King Abdullah II meets Lebanese PM Najib Mikati

His Majesty King Abdullah II met today Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, stressing Jordan’s support for Lebanon – said a statement by the Royal Hashemite Court (RHC).

In a meeting attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein, His Majesty warned of the grave regional consequences of the escalating “Israeli” war.

His Majesty emphasized Jordan’s readiness to provide assistance to help alleviate the suffering of the Lebanese people due to the ongoing war, noting that the Kingdom is making every effort, in coordination with Arab nations and key international players, to halt “Israel'”s war on Lebanon.

The King warned that the continued and expanding “Israeli” aggression against Lebanon could escalate into a regional war, with severe consequences for all.

Mikati expressed gratitude to King Abdullah for Jordan's support at all stages, particularly for its efforts to end the “Israeli” aggression against Lebanon and its people.

He also praised Jordan’s airlift between Amman and Beirut, which has been delivering humanitarian aid to those displaced by the conflict.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi, and the King’s Chief of Staff, Alaa Batayneh, were also in attendance.
