Traffic remains generally smooth, he said, although some areas in southern Amman have reported rising water levels in certain spots. Akoush noted that minor soil runoff incidents were addressed immediately without significant damage.
Weather hazards
Jordan is experiencing a high-intensity fourth-degree weather system, the strongest since the start of the 2025–2026 winter season. Its effects began Monday night and are expected to peak Tuesday, according to Arab Weather.

The storm brings widespread heavy rainfall, thunderstorms with hail and lightning, and snow showers over high mountain peaks. Forecasts also warn of strong winds exceeding 100 kilometers per hour, increasing the risk of flash floods and water accumulation in low-lying areas.
Safety advice
Akoush urged residents to remain cautious, avoid flood-prone areas, and report any issues through official municipality channels. The municipality emphasized full readiness to handle any consequences from the storm.
