Iran says it foiled Mossad-linked terror plot
Iranian media reported Saturday that security forces thwarted a major terrorist plot targeting a vital facility in the eastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan, pointing to the involvement of the 'Israeli' Mossad.
Cell dismantled
According to the semi-official Mehr News Agency, the cell - composed of seven non-Iranian operatives - was dismantled in a security operation.
Authorities said RPG-7 launchers, explosives, suicide vests, communication devices, and automatic weapons were seized during the raid.
The operation involved hours-long armed clashes, leaving six members of the cell dead and two others arrested. Two officers from the provincial intelligence department were also wounded.
Mossad connection
Officials said the group had undergone specialized training, including exercises on a replica of the intended target, which they claimed bore the “operational fingerprints” of Mossad.
Ongoing investigation
Iran’s intelligence services confirmed that investigations are continuing to identify other suspects and gather further evidence related to the foiled plot.
