Amman, Jordan.
Cooler weather sweeps Jordan, heat to return by Monday
Jordan experienced a noticeable drop in temperatures Friday as a moderate air mass from the eastern Mediterranean moved across the country, according to ArabiaWeather.
The cooler conditions brought moderate weather and strong, dust-laden winds across several areas, particularly in the southern and eastern regions. Highs in the capital Amman hovered around 26°C (79°F).
By evening, conditions became mild, gradually turning relatively chilly overnight and into the early morning, especially in highland and eastern plain areas.
Overnight lows in Amman and other regions dipped to around 15°C (59°F), accompanied by brisk northwesterly winds. ArabiaWeather advised residents to wear jackets during the late-night hours.
Temperatures are forecast to rise Saturday, climbing 2°C to 4°C above seasonal averages. The weather will be generally warm, with a high of around 29°C (84°F) expected in Amman. Moderate northwesterly winds are anticipated, with occasional strong gusts in the afternoon.
Despite the daytime warmth, conditions will remain mild in the evening, with cooler temperatures again taking hold overnight and early Sunday, particularly in elevated and eastern plain regions. Health authorities are urging the public to be mindful of the sharp temperature swings, which can increase the risk of seasonal illnesses.
A relatively hot air mass is expected to approach the Kingdom on Sunday, with its impact peaking Monday. Temperatures will rise significantly, climbing well above average, bringing hot to very hot conditions to the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba regions. Further updates are expected in the coming days.
