Education Ministry sets school hours for Ramadan in Jordan

Jordan’s Ministry of Education has announced adjusted school hours for public schools during the holy month of Ramadan. The revised schedule applies to both single-shift and double-shift schools.

Single-shift schools

• Classes begin at 9 AM
• Classes last 40 minutes
• The usual five-minute break between lessons is canceled
• A 10-minute break remains
• School day ends after the seventh period at 1:50 PM
• Eighth period is canceled

Double-shift schools

• Morning classes start at 9 AM and end at 12:40 PM
• Evening classes start at 12:50 PM and end at 4:30 PM
• Each lesson lasts 35 minutes

Additionally, extracurricular classes—including sports, arts, and activities—will be canceled for students with more than 30 weekly classes.

This change only applies to public schools.
