Jordan's position strengthened by public support, says government spokesperson
Government Spokesperson and Minister of Government Communication Dr. Mohammad Al-Momani emphasized that Jordanians made their stance clear through their warm reception of His Majesty the King, which greatly strengthened the country's historical and comprehensive positions.
In an appearance on Roya TV’s Nabd Al-Balad, Dr. Al-Momani noted that the overwhelming public support highlighted the strong bond between the people and their leadership. He also mentioned that Jordanians showed national solidarity in supporting Jordan and its leadership in defending various causes of the Arab world.
He affirmed that history will always recognize Jordan's wise, balanced, and rational positions. Dr. Al-Momani added that Jordan has constantly faced skepticism, but time and again, it has proven its stances to be the most rational, balanced, and national, positioning Jordan at the forefront of defending the Arab world’s causes.
He explained that despite criticism, both the public and officials have stood united in defense of Jordan’s position, underscoring that wisdom and rationality have consistently prevailed in the country’s history.
Regarding a recent translation error in the King’s speech during his press briefing with Donald Trump at the White House, Dr. Al-Momani clarified that the government had contacted the responsible parties, with some retracting their misleading statements. He stressed that, despite the error being evident, some social media pages continued to attack Jordan’s stance, highlighting the need to address this ongoing targeted misinformation.
Dr. Al-Momani also addressed the wider global context, stating that the world is full of chaos and false information, and handling such situations requires wisdom and balance. He pointed out that major global newspapers have clearly conveyed Jordan's position, particularly its rejection of displacement and its call for the reconstruction of Gaza while ensuring the return of its people.
On regional matters, Dr. Al-Momani said Jordan has always sought to develop a unified Arab position for greater strength. He confirmed that His Majesty the King had spoken clearly about Egypt’s plan, with upcoming meetings scheduled in Saudi Arabia on the 20th of this month, followed by an Arab summit in Cairo on the 27th.
