Armed groups say are 10 KM away from Damascus
Armed factions in Syria announced taking over the areas of Kanaker and Deir Maker, southwest of the Syrian capital, Damascus, following the withdrawal of Syrian government forces.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the factions have encircled the towns of Zakia, Khan al-Sheih, and Sa’sa in southern rural Damascus after seizing the Artoz area. This advance places the armed groups just 10 kilometers from central Damascus.
The newly formed "Southern Operations Room," comprising factions from the provinces of Daraa, Quneitra, and Sweida, said that its next target is the capital Damascus.
Regarding the governorate of Homs, the Syrian armed forces issued an official statement denying that armed factions entered the Qaryatayn area southeast of Homs, saying that their forces are in their position and are fully prepared.
