After aides of President-elect Trump asked Qatar to reclaim its roles as a mediator in the gulf Negotiations, the Gulf country now hinted strongly at significant progress in negotiations between “Israel’ and Hamas”.

In statements made Saturday morning, Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed Al Thani said the negotiations have now gained momentum after the election of Donald Trump in November.

Al Thani announced Qatar has resumed its role as a mediator after seeing that momentum, and said its cooperation with the incoming Trump administration on the ceasefire talks.

He said that the disagreements between Hamas and “Israel” on ceasefire provisions “are not fundamental”.

On Syria, Al Thani warned of the recent escalations in Syria, which he said were predictable due to the ongoing war on Gaza.
