Jordanian military foils drug smuggling attempt on southern border

A senior military official from the Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army announced that the Jordanian Southern Command, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs using a drone on Friday morning along the western border.

The official said that the border forces in the Jordanian Southern Command engaged in a controlled response after detecting and tracking the drone, successfully intercepting it and seizing its cargo within Jordanian territory. The confiscated materials were handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation.

The official affirmed the Jordanian Armed Forces' commitment to utilizing all capabilities to prevent any form of infiltration or smuggling to ensure the security and stability of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
