Amman, Jordan.
Is Jordan set for noticeable drop in temperatures?
According to the latest weather maps, a significant shift in atmospheric patterns is expected in the Northern Hemisphere, including Jordan and the Levant, as cold air flows into Eastern Europe, impacting Jordan with a mild and humid air mass.
Starting Thursday, this influx of cooler air will lead to a noticeable drop in temperatures, especially at night.
Jordan will be affected by a cooler-than-usual air mass that is expected to persist through the weekend.
As a result, daytime temperatures will fall below the seasonal average by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius. The weather will be pleasant over the highlands and moderate in most other regions, while it will remain relatively warm in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with low clouds appearing. Daytime temperatures in the highlands and most major cities, including Amman, are forecast to range between 23°C and 26°C.
By the weekend, nighttime temperatures will dip significantly, creating a substantial difference between day and night temperatures, ranging from 10°C to 14°C. This fluctuation increases the likelihood of colds and seasonal illnesses, particularly among children, prompting caution.
Numerical weather models suggest that overnight temperatures will drop to between 14°C and 17°C in the highlands and plains, with some areas like the Sharah mountains seeing lows around 10°C, creating chilly but refreshing conditions.
