Hebrew media: Netanyahu government decided to respond to Iranian attack
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority (IBA) reported that "Israel's" security cabinet decided to deliver a harsh response to the recent Iranian attack.
Citing political sources in Tel Aviv, the report mentioned that while the response will be severe. However, it is not expected to lead to a regional war.
Several factors, including the upcoming US elections, are influencing the nature of the expected response.
On Tuesday night, Iran launched a massive missile and drone attack, with over 200 missiles targeting the occupied Palestinian territories.
"Israeli" media confirmed that dozens of interceptor missiles were launched to counter the Iranian attack, and the "Israeli" foreign ministry reported that air raid sirens sounded throughout the occupied territories.
Iran stated that its delayed response to the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was due to requests from the US and Europe for a ceasefire in Gaza, according to Iranian military officer Mohammad Bagheri.
He explained that Iran’s latest operation targeted three major airbases, including the Negev base, home to F-35 fighter jets, as well as an "Israeli" Mossad facility.
Bagheri emphasized that Iran’s strong response was triggered by the escalating crimes of the Zionist regime, particularly after the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, which left Iran with no choice but to act decisively.
