Sri Lanka imposed a temporary travel ban on its citizens traveling to "Israel" as tensions in the Middle East continue to rise following "Israel's" recent ground operations in Lebanon, Anadolu Agency reported.

The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) advised individuals to put their travel plans to "Israel" on hold due to the escalating aggression.

Gamini Senarath Yapa, SLBFE’s Additional General Manager for International Affairs, emphasized the importance of staying vigilant and taking precautions as the situation develops.

Currently, thousands of Sri Lankans are employed in "Israel", with around 6,700 migrating there this year under labor agreements between the two nations. Most of these workers are employed in sectors such as construction, agriculture, and caregiving.
