Kamala Harris officially launches campaign for 2024 presidential race

US Vice President Kamala Harris declared her candidacy for the 2024 US presidential election, stepping into the race following US President Joe Biden's decision not to seek re-election. 

"I’m Kamala Harris, and I’m running for President of the United States," Harris posted on X, officially launching her campaign.

Her candidacy is significant, given her potential role as the first woman and South Asian President in US history.
