"War criminal, guilty of genocide," Rashida Tlaib calls out Netanyahu in Congress
Democratic Representative Rashida Tlaib publicly protested “Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address to the US Congress on Wednesday, accusing him of committing genocide in the Gaza Strip.
Tlaib, the first Palestinian-American congresswoman, made her stance clear as she appeared in the Capitol wearing a keffiyeh and holding a Palestinian flag.
During Netanyahu's speech, Tlaib held up a sign reading "War Criminal" on one side and "Guilty of Genocide" on the other. Her protest was a direct condemnation of Netanyahu's policies and actions towards Palestinians, particularly in Gaza.
"Palestinians deserve to live and grow, and we will not allow the genocide-obsessed Netanyahu to erase our existence," Tlaib stated. "Thousands of Palestinians have been killed in this genocide, and I am here to remind everyone that we will not be invisible or silent while a war criminal accused of genocide speaks before the US Congress."
Tlaib's protest extended to social media, where she reiterated her accusations against Netanyahu.
In a tweet, she described him as a "war criminal committing genocide against the Palestinian people," and criticized leaders from both political parties for inviting him to speak before Congress.
Netanyahu is a war criminal committing genocide against the Palestinian people. It is utterly disgraceful that leaders from both parties have invited him to address Congress. He should be arrested and sent to the International Criminal Court.
