The Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), in coordination with the security services and the Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) administration, have started applying procedures to receive Jordanian students and citizens stranded abroad, according to instructions issued by the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, in order to ensure their safety within the health and medical procedures, Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported.

The airports security and protection director, Brigadier General Khaled Al-Shanteer said: "The plan to evacuate the arrivals shall be implemented in three stages. The first stage includes the return of approximately 3,239 students from seven countries, starting from today, May 5 until Friday morning, May 8. The rest of the stages will be announced later."

The competent medical teams shall receive travelers upon their arrival at the airport to conduct medical and precautionary checks and sterilize travelers and their personal luggage. After that, the arrivals' entry, inspection, and passports stamping procedures are completed in another hall equipped for this purpose to ensure that social distancing is practiced, Shanteer added.

Later, the arrivals will get onto buses designated for their transportation to the quarantine locations that were earlier prepared.

These precautionary measures are part of the preventive measures implemented by JAF, the government, the security agencies, and various state institutions to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Shanteer assured the families of students and all citizens returning to the Kingdom that JAF and the various government and security agencies provide the highest and best possible services and care for the arrivals and that the quarantine locations that have been prepared are equipped with various means of service and comfort adding that "these locations are subject to direct control and close monitoring around the clock to ensure their safety, your safety, and the safety of the country."
