The Preventive Security Service has dealt with with three separate cases of illegal antiquities possession in Zarqa and Balqa; those involved were arrested and the antiques and precious stones were seized.

In the first of these cases, based on the information received by the Preventive Security Department of the Zarqa Governorate, a group of people were displaying relics for sale consisting of 76 pieces believed to be antique. In another case in Zarqa, another group of people were selling precious stones as antiques.
In the third case, a man was arrested at his home in Balqa, were he kept two stone statues and other antiquities which were seized.

All the seized pieces were presented to archaeologists in the Department of Antiquities, who said they were all of historical value except for the precious stones.
