Jordan cancels outdoors Eid prayer amid weather conditions

Jordan’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs announced Thursday the cancellation of all outdoor prayer grounds designated for Eid al-Fitr this year, citing prevailing weather conditions.

The ministry said that Eid prayers and sermons will instead be held inside mosques where Friday prayers are usually conducted.

In a circular issued Thursday, Minister of Awqaf Dr. Mohammad Ahmad Al-Khalayleh directed directors across the Kingdom to implement the decision, stressing it was taken to ensure public safety and ease for worshippers.
