Jordanian army intercepts drone carrying drugs on western border

The Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army announced that the Jordanian Southern Command thwarted an attempt to smuggle a quantity of narcotics using a drone on the country's western border on Friday.

Military sources said the operation was carried out in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department.

The statement added that border guards detected the drone and applied the necessary rules of engagement, successfully shooting it down inside Jordanian territory.

The seized narcotics were handed over to the competent authorities to complete the necessary legal procedures.
