‘Israeli’ extremist minister Ben-Gvir storms Aqsa Mosque on Jewish holiday “Sukkot”
‘Israel's’ far-right National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, stormed the Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem on Wednesday morning.
The raid coincided with the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, or the "Feast of Tabernacles," and came amid calls from settler groups for increased incursions into the mosque during the holiday period.
Incursion into Al-Aqsa Courtyards
Videos and photos shared on social media showed the extremist minister walking through the courtyards of the Aqsa Mosque with a heavy security detail from the ‘Israeli’ police.
The incursion is part of a series of such raids carried out by ‘Israeli’ government officials and politicians, which tend to escalate during Jewish holidays.
Ben-Gvir said he prayed for “victory in the war, the destruction of Hamas and the return of the hostages,” his office said in a statement cited by Hebrew media.
