The Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) and Thousand Madleens to Gaza (TMTG) said Wednesday morning that eight of their Gaza-bound boats were intercepted by the ‘Israeli’ military in international waters.

The interception happened at 120 nautical miles (220 km) from the Gaza Strip, according to a statement by the organizers.

‘Sources so far indicate that the unarmed crew aboard, including doctors, journalists, and elected officials, have been abducted, as well as the vital aid worth over $110,000 USD in medicines, respiratory equipment, and nutritional supplies that were destined for Gaza’s starving hospitals. Their whereabouts remain unknown,’ the statement added.

The eight intercepted boats are:: Abd Elkarim Eid, Alaa Al-Najar, Anas Al-Sharif, Gaza Sunbird, Leïla Khaled, Milad, Soul of My Soul, and Um Saad.

The Conscience vessel is still sailing as it is attacked by an ‘Israeli’ military helicopter.

The incident comes following the seizure and detention of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) and the activists on board last week.

The ‘Israeli’ Foreign Ministry said on X that the flotilla was making a "futile attempt" to breach what it says is “a combat zone."

The ministry noted that the army had "transferred the ships and passengers to an Israeli port" where they will be "deported quickly."

The organizers confirmed their boats were carrying $110,000 worth of aid, including medicine, ventilators, and food products for Gaza's hospitals.
