Gold prices in the Jordanian local market surged noticeably on Monday, Oct 6 after remaining stable over the weekend, according to the latest market update published by the Jordanian Jewelers Syndicate (JJS).
The purchase price of one gram of 21-karat gold, the most traded in Jordan, was JD 80 for citizens, and JD 77 for selling.
Across other gold categories, the bulletin provided the following prices on Sunday:
24-karat gold: JD 91.8 purchasing, JD 88.8 selling.
18-karat gold: JD 70.9 purchasing, JD 65.9 selling.
14-karat gold: JD 53.9 purchasing, JD 48.9 selling.
As for gold coins:
The Rashadi lira (weighing 7 grams of 21-carat gold) was priced at JD 560 purchasing and JD 539 selling.
The English lira (weighing 7 grams of the same carat) was priced at JD 640 purchasing and JD 616 selling.
