VIDEO - Amman Municipality opens new sports walkway in Zahran area

In a move aimed at promoting a culture of sports, the Greater Amman Municipality has opened a new sports walkway on Al-Sitteen Street in the Zahran area.

The walkway provides a safe and ideal environment for walking and cycling enthusiasts.

The walkway, which is 500 meters long, was designed and built according to international standards to ensure a seamless and comfortable experience for citizens.

Separate Lanes for Pedestrians and Cyclists

The walkway consists of two separate lanes distinguished by color for ease of use:

• Pedestrian Lane: The first lane, dedicated to pedestrians, is 2.5 meters wide and painted dark red.
• Cycling Lane: The second lane, for cyclists, is wider at 3.5 meters and is painted a distinct blue. To guide cyclists, a bicycle symbol is painted every 50 meters with arrows indicating the direction of travel and markings showing the distance covered from 100 to 500 meters.

To enhance safety, the municipality painted the sides of the walkway white and placed a clear divider between the two lanes. Side paths were also provided to facilitate safe and easy access to the walkway for residents of nearby areas.
