Jordan refers Muslim Brotherhood fundraising cases to Amman prosecutor

The State Security Court (SSC) prosecutor has referred several cases involving the banned Muslim Brotherhood’s fundraising activities to the Amman Public Prosecutor, an informed source told the Jordan News Agency (Petra).

The source explained that the transferred files concern investigations into illicit fundraising operations linked to the outlawed group. Ten individuals remain in custody at correctional and rehabilitation centers pending further investigation.

The probe also involves two other people: one who is currently outside Jordan and has not appeared before prosecutors, and another who was released on bail.

“The defendants face charges related to managing an unlawful financial network that raised funds through illegal means, much of which was funneled into activities of the banned organization and its affiliates,” the source said.

A report by Petra in mid-July indicated that while the group and its branches collected more than JD 30 million (approximately USD 42 million), only JD 413,000, around 1 percent, had been sent to recognized relief organizations in the Kingdom. Investigators found that the remaining funds were diverted to sustain the activities of the banned group.

Authorities have emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing, as prosecutors continue to scrutinize the financial networks and individuals involved.
