Iran rebuilding missile sites, satellite images show
Iran has begun reconstructing missile-production sites hit by ‘Israel’ during the 12-day war in June, according to satellite images analyzed by the Associated Press (AP).
While the facilities are being restored, a critical component called large “planetary” mixers, machines with revolving blades that provide superior mixing for solid missile fuel, has not yet been acquired.
Missiles remain a central part of Iran’s military deterrent after the war severely damaged its air defenses.
Experts say obtaining the mixers is a top priority for Tehran, especially after a United Nations vote as the country prepares for United Nations sanctions later this month that would penalize missile development.
The UN Security Council has already voted to reimpose economic sanctions on Iran over its resurgent nuclear program.

Iran could potentially obtain the planetary mixers from China, a country from which it has previously sourced missile components, according to analysts.
“If they’re able to reacquire some key things like planetary mixers, then that infrastructure is still there and ready to get rolling again,” said Sam Lair, a research associate at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies who studied Iranian missile sites.
Iran’s mission to the United Nations did not respond to requests for comment on its missile reconstruction efforts.
President Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly on Wednesday.
