Uber faces boycott calls over investment in 'Israeli' drone firm
US ride-hailing giant Uber is under mounting pressure from activists after announcing a major investment in the 'Israeli' drone delivery company Flytrex.
The collaboration seeks to integrate Flytrex’s drone systems into Uber Eats, with the aim of speeding up food deliveries in crowded cities while cutting environmental costs.
Uber confirmed that pilot operations are expected to begin in several US cities before the end of 2025. The initial rollout will target food and household goods, with expansion into additional sectors planned in the future.
But the move has triggered sharp criticism from pro-Palestinian campaigners, who accuse Uber of supporting 'Israel' at a time when it stands accused of genocide in Gaza, a war that has stretched on for nearly two years.
Here are some online reactions:

Uber just poured tens of millions into Israeli drone company Flytrex. This is the same firm now tied to expanding Israel’s war-tech economy.
