Jordanian student goes missing in Germany; family issues plea for information
A Jordanian student, Yousef Dweikat, 21, has been missing in the German city of Krefeld since Aug. 28, 2025.
Dweikat has been out of contact with his family for three weeks
Details of the Disappearance
According to his German language teacher, who has been in close contact with the family, Dweikat, a student at the German-Jordanian University, was in Germany as part of a study exchange program.
He initially resided in the city of Braunschweig before moving to Krefeld, where his trail went cold.
Dweikat was supposed to begin an internship at a company in Braunschweig on the day he disappeared. However, the company where he was interning in Krefeld has reportedly refused to provide any information, saying they are not allowed to share any.
Dweikat’s father has since been seen searching for his son in the streets of Krefeld.
Search Efforts and Official Response
German police are conducting an extensive search for Dweikat, which has included a search of his old apartment in Braunschweig and interviews with his roommates. The search has so far yielded no progress.
The Jordanian embassy in Germany is actively working on the case.
According to the teacher, the embassy is pressing the company for information and is also in contact with the German Cybercrime Unit to help locate Yousef’s phone.
Yousef’s mother, who resides in Jordan, made an emotional plea, and urged anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact them.
