Starving Palestinians in Gaza
Jordanian parties call for global hunger strike in solidarity with Gaza
In a move intended to break international silence, a group of Jordanian political parties called for a global hunger strike in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza facing a genocidal war and crippling blockade for nearly two years.
The initiative, “Empty Stomachs for Gaza,” seeks to pressure governments and decision-makers to act immediately and decisively to stop the aggression.
The announcement comes as the humanitarian crisis in Gaza reaches catastrophic levels.
The United Nations confirmed famine in northern Gaza, warning that it's spreading as entire populations urgently need aid.

In a joint statement, the participating Jordanian parties said the hunger strike represents a peaceful yet powerful means to go beyond traditional forms of protest.
Ayman Sandouqa, spokesperson for the party coalition, said, “The goal is to send a message to the world: if we cannot feed Gaza’s children, we will not eat. It is a form of peaceful resistance meant to shake humanity’s conscience.”
Several leftist and nationalist parties, including the Islamic Action Party, announced that they will open their offices in Amman and other governorates to receive supporters and participants.
The hunger strike will take place on Tuesday, September 16, and Tuesday, September 23, coinciding with similar events in over 100 cities worldwide
