Smotrich calls to dismantle PA in response to Jerusalem shooting
'Israeli' Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich condemned the shooting attack that took place in Jerusalem on Monday morning, calling it a “difficult and horrifying attack” in which “people going to work and school were killed in cold blood by despicable, brutal terrorists.”
Smotrich praised the actions of a soldier and a religious student (Haredi) who intervened, saying their courage likely prevented a larger catastrophe.
In a tweet on his account on X, Smotrich stated that “the State of Israel cannot accept a Palestinian Authority that raises its children to murder Jews. This authority must disappear from the map.” He also called for the villages from which the attackers came to be treated “like Rafah and Beit Hanoun,” referencing the heavy bombardment those Gaza Strip areas have experienced in past 'Israeli' military operations.
The statement comes just days after Smotrich proposed a plan to annex 82 percent of the West Bank, following international discussions regarding the recognition of a Palestinian state.
