‘Death or capture’: Qassam’s message after reported ambush on 'Israeli' troops in Gaza

Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, posted a brief message on their official Telegram channel stating: "We remind those who forget, death or capture."

The message coincides with Hebrew reports of losses suffered by the 'Israeli' army during an ambush carried out by the Qassam Brigades in the east of Gaza City, specifically in the Zeitoun neighborhood.

According to 'Israeli' media, preliminary figures from the Zeitoun ambush indicate one soldier was killed and 11 others injured. The 'Israeli' military has imposed a gag order related to the case involving four soldiers until further notice.

'Israeli' media noted that the army is still searching for four soldiers whose whereabouts remain unknown in the Zeitoun area. Concerns are rising that at least some of the soldiers may have fallen into Hamas hands, prompting extensive search operations.

'Israeli' outlets described the incident in Zeitoun as one of the most serious events since October 7, 2023.
