The death toll in Pakistan has climbed to 160 within 24 hours due to heavy rains sweeping across the country, the National Disaster Management Authority announced Friday.
Most of the fatalities were reported in the mountainous Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, while seven people were killed in the Pakistan-administered part of Kashmir, according to regional disaster management officials.
Emergency and rescue teams are working to address the impact of the rains and flash floods, as authorities warn of continued severe weather in the coming days.
