Jordan FM to meet US counterpart in Washington

Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi is set to meet with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio today at the State Department in Washington. The talks are expected to focus on rapid regional developments, particularly the situation in southern Syria.

Discussions will aim to address regional crises and their implications for the security and stability of the area.

The ongoing war in the Gaza Strip will also be a major topic. Safadi is expected to reiterate Jordan's stance calling for an immediate end to the aggression, guaranteed delivery of sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid to Gaza, and the launch of a serious political process leading to a just peace based on a two-state solution.
