Bodies of Belgian mother, son found after floods in southern Jordan
The Public Security Directorate (PSD) reported the discovery of the bodies of a Belgian mother and her son who had gone missing in the Shobak District due to flash floods.
Authorities confirmed that the bodies had been recovered and that an investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances of the incident.
The PSD noted that search and rescue teams operating in the southern region—comprising Civil Defense, police directorates, and the Gendarmerie Forces—managed to locate the victims after prolonged efforts that lasted for many hours under challenging weather conditions and difficult terrain.
Large parts of the Kingdom have experienced unstable weather since Sunday evening, including heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds that reduced visibility in some areas.
Authorities continue to urge the public to stay updated on the latest weather forecasts and to exercise caution to avoid potential risks caused by the ongoing unstable weather conditions.
