Brake failure causes deadly Jerash–Ajloun crash, killing two
The Jordan Traffic Department on Tuesday revealed the cause of the deadly crash on the Jerash–Ajloun road that left two people dead and 20 others injured.
According to the daily traffic report broadcast by Public Security Radio, the crash occurred when a cargo truck with failed brakes collided with a passenger bus near the Souf Triangle.
Earlier, a spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate said that rescue and ambulance teams from the Jerash Civil Defense Directorate responded to the accident, which involved a mid-sized passenger bus and a Diana cargo vehicle.
The spokesperson confirmed that two people were killed and 20 others sustained a range of injuries. First aid was administered at the scene before the injured were transported to nearby hospitals, including Jerash Governmental Hospital, Princess Haya Military Hospital, Al-Iman Governmental Hospital, and Al-Safa Specialized Hospital. The injured are currently receiving medical care.
