A relatively hot air mass is expected to gradually move into Jordan starting Monday night, according to the latest weather map updates from ArabiaWeather.

Forecasters say temperatures will rise Monday night compared to previous nights. Conditions are expected to remain mild across most regions, and warmer in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Aqaba during the evening and early night hours.

Sharp Rise in Temperatures Tuesday as Hot Air Mass Advances

On Tuesday, a relatively hot air mass will push into the Kingdom ahead of a Khamsin low-pressure system forecast to settle over Egypt before approaching Jordan later.

As a result, daytime temperatures are expected to rise significantly, bringing relatively hot weather across much of the country, and hot conditions in the Jordan Valley and Aqaba.

Winds will be southwesterly and moderate in speed, with active gusts expected in desert areas during the afternoon.

By Tuesday night, temperatures will rise further, making for warmer-than-usual and more comfortable conditions in most areas.

Khamsini Conditions Expected Wednesday and Thursday

Jordan will increasingly feel the effects of the hot air mass on Wednesday, with the onset of khamsin weather conditions. Temperatures are forecast to soar 13–15°C above average, leading to hot and dry conditions across the Kingdom, with extreme heat in the Jordan Valley and Aqaba.

Forecasters warn of increased wind activity around midday and afternoon Wednesday, especially in desert and open areas, where blowing dust may reduce visibility significantly.

Khamsini weather will persist into Thursday, with continued hot, dry conditions and the appearance of mid- to high-level clouds. Temperatures will remain extremely high in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, Aqaba and desert regions.

Winds will be moderate to brisk from the southwest to west, picking up after midday and accompanied by strong gusts that could kick up dust across various parts of the country.

Temperatures to Exceed 40°C in Jordan Valley and Aqaba

Meteorologists at ArabiaWeather warned that areas including the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Aqaba are expected to bear the brunt of the heat, with temperatures nearing — and potentially surpassing — 40°C under intense heat conditions.

Public Safety Recommendations:

  • Be cautious of dust, especially in the afternoon.
  • Expect reduced visibility due to dense dust storms in the southern and eastern regions, and eastern plains.
  • Avoid strenuous outdoor activity during peak heat hours and stay hydrated.
  • Dispose of cigarettes safely to prevent wildfires.
  • Do not leave children in locked vehicles, even for short periods.
  • Avoid leaving flammable materials in closed vehicles.
