‘Our flag flies high’: Jordanians mark Flag Day with nationwide pride
Jordanians across the country are celebrating Jordanian Flag Day today, Wednesday, April 16, 2025, a national occasion that embodies pride, unity, and deep-rooted connection to the Jordanian flag as a symbol of sovereignty and identity.
All governorates witnessed widespread official and public events reflecting the people's love for their country and their emotional attachment to the flag — a symbol etched in hearts and history.
Flag Day, observed annually on April 16, serves as a moment to honor the significance of the flag and what it represents: dignity, pride, and a legacy built on sacrifice and achievement.
Minister of Culture Mustafa Al-Rawashdeh said the government has prepared a comprehensive celebration program across all provinces, in cooperation with official institutions and local communities. He noted that this year’s events carry emotional and symbolic depth, reinforcing the presence of the flag in the public space and national memory.
The celebration includes field and media activities aimed at strengthening loyalty and national identity. Flags were raised on buildings, streets, homes, and vehicles across the country. A unified national moment took place at 12 PM, with flags raised simultaneously under the banners “Our flag flies high” and “Jordanian Flag Day.”
Streets, squares, and landmarks across Jordan were adorned with the national flag. Homes and shopfronts were decorated, the Roman Amphitheater was illuminated in flag colors, and musical performances, student initiatives, and the launch of the campaign’s visual identity marked the occasion.
