At least 8,300 employees in 'Israel’s' tech sector have left the country since the start of the aggression on Gaza in October 2023, according to a new report by the Israel Innovation Authority.

Covering the period from October 2023 to July 2024, the data shows that 2.1 percent of 'Israel’s' entire tech workforce has departed, reflecting a sharp response to the ongoing conflict and its economic fallout.

The report also highlights a rare contraction within the high-tech industry itself. Around 5,000 employees exited the sector in 2024 alone — marking the first annual decline in 'Israel’s' tech workforce in more than a decade.

By the end of 2024, the total number of high-tech employees had dropped to 390,847, a 1.2 percent decrease from the previous year.

The report comes amid mounting concerns over 'Israel’s' economy, as it faces reduced foreign investment, increasing global isolation, and internal political instability linked to the war.
