"Israel" claims Gaza airstrike targeted senior Hamas official

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) confirmed that it conducted an airstrike on Wednesday targeting a senior Hamas official, which Gaza’s civil defense agency reported resulted in the deaths of at least 20 people. The strike occurred in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood of Gaza City, where a residential building was hit.

When approached for comment by Agence France-Presse (AFP) regarding the airstrike, an IOF spokesperson stated that the operation aimed to eliminate "a senior Hamas terrorist who was responsible for planning and executing terrorist attacks" from that area. However, the military did not disclose the name of the individual targeted.
