Hamas calls for international action as new massacre claims lives in Gaza
Hamas accused the Israeli Occupation of perpetrating a new massacre in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood of eastern Gaza City, describing the incident as a "barbaric crime."
The movement asserted that this act adds to a series of atrocities committed by Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) against unarmed civilians in the enclave, with direct support from the US administration.
In an urgent statement, Hamas condemned the ongoing violence, stating that the repeated massacres against the Palestinian people represent a stain on the conscience of the international community, which it claims stands either helpless or complicit in the daily crimes affecting children, women, and the elderly. The movement vowed that these crimes "will not go unpunished and will not be forgotten."
Hamas criticized the reactions of Arab and Islamic nations, deeming their timid statements and condemnations insufficient amid what it described as an "open holocaust" against the Palestinian people. The movement emphasized that allowing Palestinians to confront the Israeli Occupation "killing machine" alone constitutes a moral and humanitarian failure.
The group called on leaders of Arab and Islamic countries to fulfill their historical responsibilities and exert serious pressure on the "Israeli" government and its supporters in Washington to halt the aggression and lift the blockade on the Gaza Strip.
These statements follow a recent escalation in violence in Shuja'iyya, where intense bombardments by "Israeli" forces resulted in numerous casualties among civilians. This attack is part of a broader military operation that has been ongoing since October 2023, leading to tens of thousands of deaths and injuries, the majority of whom are women and children.
Hamas further urged countries that maintain diplomatic relations with "Israel" to sever those ties and close the embassies of what it referred to as the "Nazi entity" in solidarity with the victims.
