Authorities arrest social media users for promoting racial tensions in Jordan
The Cybercrime Unit, as part of its ongoing monitoring, identified and tracked down the administrators of four social media accounts within Jordan that were spreading content “inciting division and racial tensions” – a statement by the Public Security Directorate (PSD).
The statement added that the individuals operating these accounts were arrested and referred to the judiciary, where the public prosecutor ordered their detention.
The PSD emphasized that specialized teams continue to monitor and take legal action against accounts that violate the law, confirming that additional account administrators—both within the kingdom and abroad—have been identified and reported.
“Authorities will not tolerate or remain silent on such accounts, whether domestic or foreign, and will not allow them to undermine national unity or incite against any segment of Jordanian society,” the statement concluded.
