In a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cairo acknowledged Trump's remarks on Wednesday, stating, "No one is expelling anyone from Gaza," in response to a question during a White House meeting with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin.
Trump also emphasized that Washington is working "diligently" in coordination with 'Israel' to resolve the situation in the Gaza Strip.
Egypt emphasized the importance of building on this position to advance broader efforts toward Middle East peace. The statement highlighted the necessity of adopting a comprehensive approach that ensures stability and security for all parties involved.
Furthermore, Egypt reiterated its support for President Trump’s initiative to resolve international conflicts, including in the Middle East, and stressed that any peace efforts must align with the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people. This includes their right to establish an independent state along the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Cairo reaffirmed its commitment to backing all serious initiatives aimed at achieving a just and comprehensive peace in the region. It also called on international and regional stakeholders to intensify efforts toward a peaceful settlement that guarantees security, stability, and prosperity for all.
Since January 25, Trump had been promoting a plan to relocate Palestinians from Gaza to neighboring countries, such as Egypt and Jordan—a proposal both nations rejected, alongside other Arab states and international organizations.
In early February, he presented his plan, which proposed the permanent displacement of Palestinians, US control over the strip, and an initiative to rebuild it into a so-called "Riviera of the Middle East."
