Disciplinary actions taken against Al-Rusaifa school staff after student burning incident

The Ministry of Education announced today, Thursday, the decisions of the investigative committee formed to look into the incident involving student Muhammad Al-Humaidi, which occurred at Khalid Bin Al-Walid School in Al-Rusaifa.

The committee decided to suspend the school principal from work and refer him to the disciplinary council for failing to perform his job duties properly.

Additionally, a school staff member was also suspended and referred to the disciplinary council for endangering the safety of students.

The committee imposed a penalty of withholding the annual increment for three years on the assistant principal for failing to carry out his assigned duties and neglecting to monitor student attendance and ensure their presence in the classrooms. The same penalty was applied to the classroom teacher for not being present during the first and second periods, which contributed to the incident.

The committee directed the Directorate of Education in Al-Rusaifa to convene a student discipline council regarding the two attacking students, while also activating the role of student counseling and implementing school discipline regulations to ensure that such incidents do not recur.
