11-year-old student set on fire by classmates at school in Jordan

An 11-year-old student, identified as Mohamed, was burned with kerosene inside a local school in Jordan in a disturbing incident.

In a video circulating online, Mohamed explains that a teacher asked him to bring a broom to clean the classroom. While heading to the kitchen, he was attacked by two classmates who restrained him, poured kerosene on his body, and set him on fire, causing severe burns.

The video shows teachers quickly intervening to extinguish the flames and immediately transporting Mohamed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Hospital footage reveals Mohamed receiving medical attention for burns on various parts of his body. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the full details of the incident.

The Public Security Directorate confirmed that the Family Protection Department has launched an investigation into the incident.

Mohamed’s claims are being investigated, and authorities are focusing on whether his classmates poured a flammable substance on him and attempted to burn him. A video of Mohamed receiving treatment after the incident has also surfaced.

A spokesperson added that investigation teams began their work immediately following the incident. The two suspects have been apprehended, witness statements have been collected, and security camera footage has been reviewed.

All details of the incident are being thoroughly examined, and the case will be referred to the appropriate judicial authorities once the investigation is complete.
