The EMRC emphasized that the gas sector remains open for investment by all entities, whether currently licensed companies or new investors, provided they adhere to the regulatory requirements and the approved Jordanian technical standards.

The commission also reassured consumers that using composite plastic gas cylinders is optional, and they can still use metal cylinders without any additional costs for those opting for the plastic ones.

Clear licensing standards

The EMRC explained that the licensing process is not limited to a specific entity or origin but follows clear technical criteria to ensure the highest safety and quality standards. Any entity that meets the required conditions can apply for investment according to the approved legal frameworks.

The commission encouraged interested investors to submit applications for the necessary licenses, highlighting that the expansion of the energy and gas sector offers promising investment opportunities that can enhance energy security and improve services for consumers.

It reiterated its commitment to providing a fair and transparent investment environment that fosters competition while protecting the rights of both consumers and investors.

The EMRC also affirmed its continued commitment to strict oversight of the sector to ensure compliance with technical standards and legal requirements, aiming to safeguard consumer safety and ensure the stability and sustainable development of the market.
