According to the latest forecasts released on Monday morning, Jordan will be affected by a second-grade low-pressure system, as classified by Arabia Weather, starting from the night of Wednesday/Thursday and continuing throughout Thursday.

A statement sent to Roya indicates that by the end of the week, a cold air mass from Southeast Europe will move toward the eastern Mediterranean basin, leading to the formation of a low-pressure system over Syrian territory.

Its effects will begin to reach Jordan starting from Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

On Thursday, temperatures are expected to drop significantly, with cold, windy, and cloudy weather. Rain is anticipated in scattered areas, occasionally accompanied by hail showers. Fog may also form in high-altitude areas due to low-lying clouds. Westerly winds will be active, with occasional strong gusts.

Thursday night: Low-pressure system moves eastward

By Thursday evening and night, the low-pressure system will move eastward, away from the Kingdom. However, the moist air currents associated with it will continue to affect Jordan, keeping the possibility of rain, especially in northern and central regions, and fog may persist in high elevations.

Friday: Extremely cold weather, continued rain showers

On Friday, temperatures are expected to drop further, remaining 3-5°C below their seasonal averages. The weather will be cold and cloudy, with scattered rain showers. Light snow showers are also possible over high mountain peaks.

During the night, the weather will become very cold, with continued rain and occasional hail showers over high-altitude areas.

Recommendations:

Arabia Weather has issued a warning about reduced visibility due to fog in high elevations and advised caution on desert and eastern plateau roads due to strong winds and dust storms. It is also recommended to drive carefully on wet roads to avoid slipping and maintain a safe distance.
