Unstable weather Wednesday afternoon in Jordan; flash floods warnings issued
Jordan will experience cold weather across most regions on Wednesday, with cloud cover at various altitudes. By the afternoon, the country will gradually be affected by a state of atmospheric instability.
Flash flood warnings issued
During the evening hours, cloud cover will increase, bringing scattered showers over northern, central, and parts of eastern Jordan. Some rain showers may be heavy at times, accompanied by thunder and hail.
Rainfall may extend to parts of the southwestern regions, while northwesterly winds will be moderate to occasionally active.
The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) has warned of reduced visibility due to fog over highlands, potential flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas in the north, and frost formation in the early morning hours over high-altitude southern mountains.
Thursday’s forecast
On Thursday, the weather will remain cold and partly cloudy across most regions, with a slight chance of light, scattered showers in the north. Western winds will be active, kicking up dust in desert areas.
Gradual temperature rise
On Friday, a slight rise in temperatures is expected. The weather will remain cold in most areas and relatively cool in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with moderate easterly to southeasterly winds.
By Saturday, temperatures will continue to rise gradually, with cold conditions prevailing across most regions. It will remain relatively cool in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with high-altitude clouds appearing in eastern Jordan and moderate southeasterly winds.
