Two "Israeli" soldiers killed, 8 injured in crane collapse due to wind

"Israeli" military confirmed on Thursday that a lieutenant colonel and a soldier were killed, with eight others injured, after a crane collapsed north of Gaza.

The army stated that one of the victims was a lieutenant colonel serving in the reserves with Battalion 51 in the Golani Brigade.

"Israeli" public broadcasting reported that the crane collapsed due to strong winds, crashing into a tent where the soldiers were inside.

The broadcasting authority noted that the military is investigating the incident, which highlights inadequate preparedness for adverse weather conditions.

This event comes as the Gaza Strip and nearby areas are experiencing a low-pressure system with heavy rain and strong winds.
