Spain's Foreign Minister, José Manuel Albares, on Thursday rejected a proposal by 'Israeli' Defense Minister, Israel Katz, suggesting that Spain should accept displaced Palestinians from Gaza.

In an interview with Spanish radio station RNE, Albares stated, "Gazans’ land is Gaza and Gaza must be part of the future Palestinian state," emphasizing the territorial rights of Palestinians.

The controversy follows Katz's directive to the 'Israeli' army to prepare a plan for the "voluntary departure" of Gaza residents, a move that aligns with US President Donald Trump’s recent announcement. Trump proposed a plan to take over Gaza, resettle its Palestinian residents, and transform the region into what he described as the "Riviera of the Middle East."

Katz also suggested that countries like Spain, Ireland, and Norway, which have previously recognized a Palestinian state, are "legally obligated" to allow Gaza residents to enter their territories. He criticized these nations, implying that their refusal to accept displaced Palestinians would expose their hypocrisy.

Katz’s remarks came as the US and Israeli Occupation look to implement the controversial proposal amidst ongoing violence in Gaza. The plan includes options for departure via land crossings and special arrangements for sea and air travel.

This plan has sparked widespread anger in the Middle East and the international community.
