Several governorates across Jordan experienced heavy rainfall and hail on Wednesday evening and early Thursday as a deepening weather depression affected the country.

In Ajloun, snowfall and heavy hail were reported early Thursday, marking the impact of the cold front.

Jamal Al-Mousa, an advisor at ArabiaWeather, stated that the cold front led to a noticeable drop in temperatures.

In an interview with Roya, Mousa explained that precipitation is expected to intensify on Thursday, starting in the northern regions before gradually extending to central and southern areas.

He added that the peak of the depression would be on Wednesday night into Thursday, with heavy rainfall expected on Thursday morning.

Wind speeds are projected to reach between 70-80 km/h, stirring dust and sandstorms in desert areas.

By Thursday afternoon, rainfall chances are expected to decrease, though the cold weather will persist. Mousa noted that the chilly conditions across Jordan will continue until Saturday.

He also warned of potential hazards, including slippery roads due to rain and reduced visibility caused by fog and dust on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
