The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) reports that 110 Palestinian political prisoners will be released from "Israeli" prisons today as part of the third round of a ceasefire and prisoners exchange deal between "Israel" and Hamas.

Most of the freed detainees are expected to arrive in the Radana area of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank around noon local time (10:00 GMT). However, 20 detainees will be exiled outside Palestine.

According to information received by Hamas, the list of detainees released today from the occupation's prisons includes 32 individuals sentenced to life imprisonment, 48 with lengthy sentences, and 30 children.

14 political prisoners from Jerusalem will be released and transferred back to Jerusalem, while nine others will be deported to Gaza, according to the Palestinian Prisoners' Affairs Committee and the Palestinian Prisoner Club.

The same source also stated that 21 political prisoners, sentenced to life imprisonment, will be exiled outside Palestine via Egypt.

Among the detainees is Zakaria Zubeidi, 49, a former Palestinian resistance fighter and theatre director, known for his famous 2021 escape from Gilboa Prison alongside five other detainees.

Zubeidi previously led the Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a group affiliated with Fatah, and was active during uprisings against Israeli occupation between 2000 and 2005, according to The Associated Press.

This latest release will bring the total number of freed Palestinian political prisoners to 400 since the ceasefire began.

Before this round of releases, 10,400 Palestinians were in "Israeli" custody, including more than 3,300 held in administrative detention without charge or trial.

These figures do not include Palestinians detained by "Israeli" forces in Gaza, among them medical personnel such as Dr. Hussam Abu Saffiyya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital.
