'Israeli' official warns second phase of ceasefire "may collapse before it begins"
An Israeli Occupation security official warned that the second phase of the agreement may collapse before it even begins, as the occupation government deliberately conceals its details from the public.
According to "Israeli" media, the official suggested that Hamas might halt the first phase if it believes the second will not be implemented, complicating the release of the remaining captives.
He noted that "Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu faces a dilemma in balancing what he has already agreed to with his previous commitments, such as withdrawing from Netzarim and the Philadelphi Corridor.
The second phase, he stressed, requires decisive choices that may contradict the government's prior pledges.
Meanwhile, sources close to the "Israeli" Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer believe the obstacles can be overcome, viewing the second phase as part of a "historic process" involving Arab normalization, a multinational force in Gaza, the dismantling of Hamas' rule, and internationally backed reconstruction.
